The races posted here were created using a modified racial creation system. To compute the cost of the races created with this creation process, take the Racial Base Statistic cost and add to it the Racial Powers cost and the Racial Cultural Package cost. Racial Base Statistic CostTo figure the Racial Base Statistic cost, first set the maximum physical statistics for the race. Next, comparing them to human normal maximum, add the point costs of all stats above human maximum. Then add all the savings from all stats below human max. To figure the Racial Base Statistic cost, subtract HALF of the savings from the decreased stats from the cost of the increased stats. Example: a player makes a race whose stat differences from human maximum are a STR max of 18, a DEX max of 22, and an INT max of 21. To compute the Racial Base Statistic Cost, figure the cost of the increased stats. The increases were 7 points (a cost of 6 points for 2 points of DEX and 1 point for 1 point of INT). Next figure the savings. The savings were 2 points for 2 points of STR. Subtract Half of the savings (.5*2 = 1) from the increases for a Racial Base Statistic Cost total of 6 points. The formula is: Racial Base Statistics = INCREASES - .5 * SAVINGS NOTE: All races begin with base stats that are 10 less than the racial maximum. Racial Powers CostRacial powers are bought as normal powers using the HERO system rules and any applicable House Rules. Racial Cultural Package CostCultural packages are bought as normal using the HERO system rules with the exception of the Package Bonus is counted as an Skill/Power/Ability with a negative cost instead of as a disadvantage. This allows you to "save" the points from the Package Bonus and spend them elsewhere. See the High Elf Cultural Package for an example. |
